RESPONSIBLE FOR: The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients during procedures in the Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology, and other Imaging departments. The RN is responsible for maintaining the standards of Cardiac Catheterization and Imaging practice; complying with established policy and procedure; coordinating all patient care activities with ancillary staff; managing supplies and equipment; and promoting collaboration with medical and other staff. The RN will participate in, but is not limited to, Invasive Cardiac Catheterization/Interventional Radiology and Imaging Procedures, as well as monitoring Cardiac Rehab patients as needed. Responsible for preparation of patients for procedures, moderate sedation and will assist with procedures in Interventional Radiology, Imaging, Cardiac Cath, and Cardiac Rehab. Equipment experience includes Rotoblader, stents, angioplasty, atherectomy, IABP insertions, left/right heart diagnostics studies. Cross trained in all phases including scrub, circulating, and recording Radiology and Cardiology procedures. Direct patient responsibility for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and neonatal patient care until the patient is returned to his/her room or until outpatient is discharged.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current Georgia licensure as a Registered Nurse; minimum of two years experience in Cardiac Catheterization and/or critical care nursing; current certification in BCLS and ACLS, and other related skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing; current CCRN certification; five years recent clinical experience in cardiac cath and critical care nursing; experience in cardiac or imaging nursing, experience with infant, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
