Provides physician assistance in urgent care setting with particular emphasis upon patient medical care/treatment, patient education activities, and management of triage telephone calls from patients with health problems.
Skills Must be able to: Monitor vital signs. Assist with patient exam and treatment. Assist with surgical procedures. Perform sterile procedures. Follow infection control policies. Perform injections (ID, SQ, and IM). Perform venipunctures. Perform blood and urine testing. Follow Lab Safety and Hygiene procedures. Perform EKG and Aerosol Procedures. Ability to perform x-rays of extremities, spine, chest, and abdomen a plus. Perform minor lab testing including CBCs and urine pregnancy tests.
Experience Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a medical office or one (1) year of experience in an emergency room or urgent care setting. LPNs will be considered with no previous medical office experience. Experience with x-ray and lab procedures a plus.
