Description

Piedmont Cancer is currently seeking a board certified physicist for hospital-based Radiation Department in Fayetteville, GA, 30 minutes south of Atlanta. This physicist will join a team of 4 board certified physicists, 5 dosimetrists, therapists, and support staff covering three clinics in metro Atlanta.   
At assigned location, we currently average 45 patients per day.  The site consists of a GammaMed HDR, Varian Clinac iX and TrueBeam, both equipped with RapidArc, CBCT, and respiratory gating.  Variseed prostate LDR treatments are offered at this location.  Additional sites are equipped with a TrueBeam STX, Gamma Knife Perfexion, GammaMed HDR, and Clinac iX machines.  Fully deployed ARIA EMR and planning with Eclipse and BrainLab are shared among the three sites.  Centers are ASTRO APEx and ACR Radiation Oncology accredited with identical policies and procedures implemented among all sites. 
The successful candidate is expected to work as an integral part of the hospital oncology treatment team as well as communicating with the physics group as a whole. Responsibilities include treatment planning, chart review, and TG-142 QA. In addition, participation in continuous quality improvement initiatives with the support of the physics group is expected. Travel to an additional client sites may be required contingent upon patient census.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are essential.  

Requirements

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Medical Physics, or equivalent from an accredited college or university. 

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Board C
ertification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics.
EXPERIENCE:  Experience with some or all of the following equipment is highly desirable: Varian accelerators, Eclipse treatment planning systems, Aria record and verify systems, Variseed prostate LDR treatment planning system, Varian GammaMed HDR and Sun Nuclear QA equipment.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Ability to use sophisticated computer and software, analytical thinking, manual dexterity, social skills, professional integrity and commitment to teamwork.
