Piedmont Henry Hospital - Stockbridge, Georgia
Piedmont Cancer is currently seeking a Medical Physicist for a hospital-based Radiation Department in Stockbridge, GA, 30 minutes south of Atlanta. This physicist will join a team of 8 board certified physicists, 6 dosimetrists, therapists, and support staff covering seven clinics in metro Atlanta.
These locations utilize Mosaiq, ARIA, and EPIC in a paperless environment with iPlan, Eclipse, RayStation, BrachyVision, MIM, Velocity, and RadCalc planning software tools. All treatment modalities are offered utilizing various treatment units: Elekta Synergy and Varian TrueBeam, CBCT, Respiratory Gating, an Elekta Perfexion Gamma Knife unit, and Varian GammaMed Plus 12i HDR units. Simulations are performed on GE Light Speed Wide Bore CTs. Prostate LDR as well as radiopharmaceutical brachytherapy are offered as treatments. Centers are ASTRO APEx and ACR Radiation Oncology accredited with identical policies and procedures implemented among all sites.
The successful candidate is expected to work as an integral part of the hospital oncology treatment team as well as communicating with the physics group as a whole. Responsibilities include treatment planning, chart review, and TG-142 QA. In addition, participation in continuous quality improvement initiatives with the support of the physics group is expected. Travel to additional client sites may be required contingent upon patient census.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are essential.
EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Medical
Physics or equivalent education from an accredited college or university.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics is preferred. Will consider candidates currently completing a residency.
EXPERIENCE: Experience with some or all of the following equipment is highly desirable: Varian accelerators, Eclipse or RayStation treatment planning systems, Aria or Mosaiq record and verify systems, and Sun Nuclear QA equipment.
