Preferred/Desired Experience
Three to five years' experience in the cancer registry field preferred.
Education
Associates degree in an Allied Health field is preferred
High School or GED. Associates degree in an Allied Health field.
Training/ Special Skills
Working knowledge of cancer registry including program administration. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, statistics and
epidemiology.Proficiency in word processing and software as related to cancer registry. Above average communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to the public and health care professionals. Working knowledge of cancer registry including program administration.
Licensure
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or must obtain certification within two years. RHIT or RHIA credentialed through AHIMA.
