Medical Surgical 2 (MS2): 32 beds
Patient population consists of stroke/TIA and general medical patients. Nursing competency requires BLS, Georgia stroke curriculum, and standard medical surgical nursing care.
All units provide services to a robust patient population with many opportunities to expand your professional practice and experience. You will grow your skills and have many opportunities to enroll in education that offers CEUs. We offer our nurses many opportunities to get involved via the shared governance council, unit-based councils, and a variety of other committees so your voice is always heard. The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Demonstrated clinical competency.
