Description
Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) /Cardiac stepdown is a 14 Bed unit. The Patientpopulation consist of chest pain, CHF and atrial arrythmias on cardiac drips(Cardizem, Amiodarone, Milrinone, Lasix, Heparin, Nitroglycerine). Thisunit does pre and post care of the cardiovascular patients from the Cath Lab toinclude pulling sheaths and managing wrist and groin sites. CDU alsoperforms TEE/Cardioversions under conscience sedation as well as phase IIrecovery on broncospy patients. Nursing competency includes BLS,ACLS. PCCU or Cardiac certification a plus but not required.
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through thelifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluatethe care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policiesand procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth andaccountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards ofpractice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in theprovision of quality nursing care. IND123 #GD
Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
