Administration and growth of the Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Service Lines at PCR, defining and
maintaining standards of practice for service delivery and organizational performance strategies
consistent with Piedmont Healthcare. Responsible for establishing the Cardiovascular and Neuroscience
Service Line objectives in collaboration with other clinical and operational stakeholders including essential
physicians and other health care disciplines involved in the management of the Cardiovascular and
Neuroscience Service Line population. Serves as part of a collaborative management team focused on
promoting the Mission, Vision, and Values of PHC and Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Services,
embracing a person-centered philosophy while promoting C & N Services across the continuum and
enhancing value-driven outcomes. Responsible for designing the organizational structure to support
services for C & N Services populations while ensuring quality patient care.

1. Responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Cardiovascular and
Neuroscience Service Line, including Cardiovascular Imaging, Cardiac Catheterization, Vascular
Imaging, Clinical Support Unit, and all Stroke related clinical Programs. Works directly and
collaboratively with all program Medical meet and exceed service expectations.
Leads monthly C & N Service Line meetings and ensures other leaders, physicians and line staff
are updated with information.
2. Provides overall leadership for all inpatient and outpatient services including but not limited to the
hiring, firing, performance management, coaching, counseling and development of staff.
Oversees the monitoring of utilization of staff in areas of responsibility based on shift, skill level,
patient census, acuity, and economic constraints.
3. Prepares and meets yearly objectives for areas of responsibility; provides updates to COO as
needed or as requested. Effectively translates objectives and goals into specific actions.

4. Ensures that quality patient care is provided to each patient in accordance with established
standard of care, practice and performance, and hospital policies and procedures.
5. Responsible for the development, revision, and approval of all policies and procedures for C & N
Services. Ensures that each area of responsibility has clinical/technical policies in place to
address specific areas of operations and that these policies are reviewed and revised as
6. Responsible for all financial aspects of C & N Services to including preparation of budgets for all
C & N Departments, annual equipment analysis to identify trends or problems related to the need
for capital or minor equipment acquisitions and completing Responsibility Reports in a timely
manner, providing acceptable explanation of variances.
7. Ensures Quality, Safety and Service within C & N services to including developing and
implementing patient satisfaction indicators and monitoring trends with physicians and staff;
identifying and implementing intervention strategies to exceed patient and physician expectations.
8. Identifies communication needs and implements interventions for the improvement of care
provider and other staff satisfaction. Monitors trends and adjusts to maintain an environment for
staff satisfaction.
9. Oversees ongoing C & N programs, and monitors appropriately, to maintain quality and
appropriateness of patient care. Reviews, analyzes, and implements improvements based on
data indicators. Involves physicians in issues and outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in field related to healthcare required.

Five (5) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required and Five (5) years management
experience in Cardiac Services leadership position or other program development service lines. Hospital
setting preferred.

Depending on degree, associated current state license required. (RN, RRT, or RCVT. Current BLS or
ACLS required)

Work experience with involving quality improvement, patient safety, process improvement or a close
related field. Working knowledge of hospital, departments, and physician offices/clinics policies,
procedures and regulations. Knowledge of laws, regulations, standards and guidelines imposed on
healthcare systems by various agencies. Ability to develop strong working relationships with physicians,
staff, patients, visitors, and Piedmont Healthcare partners.
