Piedmont Macon Medical Center ER is a high acuity full service emergency room that serves the Macon-Bibb area and surrounding counties. We are conveniently located just off Interstate I-16 and I-7. It is a 25 bed ER that provides care to patients presenting with a wide range of illnesses, from life-threatening conditions to minor injuries or illnesses. We serve over 45,000 patients annually providing high quality and compassionate care.  We are a primary stroke center with 24 hour tele-neurology coverage that is recognized by the TJC and have received a Silver Plus award for the fast treatment of strokes within our ERs. We have a CT located within the ER and quickly diagnose and administer tPA to stroke patients. We have a helipad located near the ER that we have to receive patients from other facilities as well as transfer out should the need arise. We are designated as a Level 1 Emergency Cardiac Care for our STEMI patients. We utilize software with our EMS partners to submit ECGs to the ER to have the cath lab ready to receive an incoming STEMI patient. Seamless collaboration with the cath team and cardiologists to provide the quickest possible care when a patient needs it. We have a dedicated ER behavioral health pod that serves a great need. It includes 4 individualized psych safe rooms with a dedicated BH staff and support team. We are a teaching facility affiliated with Mercer School of Medicine For Emergency Room residency program as well. We are in our third year currently.

The Clinical Coordiantor Nurse coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.





Graduate of a nursing program.


One (1) year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.


Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.

BLS certification required.


Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum).

Demonstrated clinical competency.
