* This is a NIGHT position, 7 PM to 7 AM with varying days of the week based on the needs of the team!
(Rotating weekends)
Position Responsibilities:

- Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served

- Promotes customer service initiatives along with Eastside Medical Center Service Values.

- Documents responsibility for all patient care delivered on the shift.

- Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures

- Promotes compliance with National Patient Safety Goals

- Assumes responsibility for employee, physician and patient satisfaction

- Responsible for quality of care delivered within department
|
- Provides leadership, coaching and counseling to department employees
- Provides follow-up on performance issues and provides timely feedback to improve and provide knowledge and skills of employee.

- Collaborates with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery
|
- Identifies and refers issues to Director/Coordinator as appropriate
|
- Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures
|
- Functions as clinical resource for staff
|
- Functions as liaison to patients, families, staff and physicians
|
- Assists with development/revision of respiratory policies and procedures
- Provides or coordinates preceptorship of new employee and students
- Assists with daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and productivity management
- Works in conjunction with Clinical Coordinator to cover lead in all areas when needed

Requirements
Department Specific Criteria:
Qualifications:
- BLS – American Heart Association – required upon hire or transfer
- ACLS – American Heart Association – required upon hire or transfer
- Graduate of an approved (A.M.A) Respiratory Therapy Program
- Complete the NBRC registry and maintain RRT credentials required
- Current Georgia RT licensure

- Three (3) years of patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred
|
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
|
- Strong critical thinking skills
|
Degree of Supervisor Required: Minimal – individual proceeds on his/her own, in compliance with policies, procedures and practices as prescribed by immediate supervisor.
Employees Supervised: Respiratory staff
| - Performs duties in accordance with unit specific standards of care as evidenced by completion of a competency skills check list
|
| - Ensures quality of patient care and assists in patient care as necessary
|
| - Responsible for workflow of department by ensuring proper staff levels
|
| - Continually assesses and assigns patient care
|
| - Provides and encourages staff to attend mandatory in-services
|
| - Creates staffing schedules and ensure that staff members adhere to schedule
|
| - Communicates changes in policies/procedures and any other information received to staff
|
| - Handles patient, visitor, or physician complaints promptly and in a professional manner
|
| - Handles staffing needs and training new staff members
|
| - Assists staff members with patient care duties
|
| - Interacts with patient, family, staff and physicians in professional manner at all times
|
| - Ensures staff complete job assignments as documented in policy/procedure
|
| - Ensures that documentation on all charts is complete and accurate
|
| - Ensures that the unit free from hazards and enforced all safety procedures.
|
| - Ensures that unit supplies and equipment are maintained appropriately
|
