Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Directs and coordinates planning, budgeting, and operational functions of facilities and support services.
Oversees Construction, Engineering, Security, Environment of Care and Organizational Safety. Assists
with oversight of the facility Clinical Engineering department in coordination with corporate director of CE.
Assures compliance with all federal, state, and local building codes; Joint Commission; and hospital
safety requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents the hospital in planning and coordination of construction activities, including the
replacement facility.
Oversees Hospital Engineering department, assuring all regulatory and safety equipment is
appropriately maintained.
Monitors and manages clinical engineering program and coordinates operations with corporate
director of CE.
Monitors and manages hospital Security function and ensures a safe environment for patients
and staff.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills including superior oral and written communications.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
BA/BS Degree in Architecture, or Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) to seven (7) years healthcare engineering experience. Previous managerial experience required.


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree preferred. Previous experience in new facility planning preferred.
