Description

Coordinating, updating and revising the speech-language pathology clinical education program. Conducting consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school
 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Four (4) years post graduate clinical experience


MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current license in the State of Georgia.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). BLS certification through AHA.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates, updates, and revises the speech-language pathology clinical education program
2. Conducts clinical consultations and diagnostic evaluations
3. Establishes intervention/ treatment plans
4. Provides patient/client treatment
5. Assists with patient discharge planning
6. Provides education and counseling to patients and families
7. Generates clinical documentation
8. Measures quality and outcomes
9. Manages costs
10. Communicates with others
