Program Manager, Clinical Lab Science

JOB PURPOSE:
Directs and maintains an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program, abiding by the Standards of an Accredited Educational Program (DNV Accreditation) for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). Instructs and produces highly qualified technically oriented CLS that are eligible to sit for the National Registry (ASCP). Educates communities of interest on CLS for prospective Technologists at Piedmont Augusta and for the community as well.
Schedules, assigns and correlates CLS students clinical educational activities with their didactic training and advisement to meet the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Lab Science accreditation (NACCLS) requirements. Participates in, oversees and coordinates the students clinical and didactic supervision provided by the Clinical Coordinator and clinical instructors in order to enhance the CLS program and to provide consistency. Maintains student records of clinical and didactic progress for accuracy of documentation and considering student confidentiality. This role reports into the Director, Allied Health Programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, (ASCP) registered., Masters degree in related field.
Employees that obtain a Masters Degree within one year of hire are eligible.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years experience in diagnostic clinical laboratory science and instructing students.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current national certification as an ASCP national certification as a general Clinical Laboratory Scientist/ Medical Technologist as required by the state of Georgia.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years educational/teaching experience in an accredited CLS program required; three (3) years required within one year of hire.
