Sr Medical Staff Specialist

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Sr. Medical Staff Specialist, functions as a liaison between the Medical Staff Specialist of Piedmont Hospitals, allied healthcare professionals, legal counsel, and administration with regard to system-wide credentialing processes, interpretation and application of DNV standards, medical/legal issues, state and federal guidelines, and regulatory agency guidelines as they relate to credentialing, peer review and compliance issues. Coordinates all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff initial appointment, Advanced Practice Practitioner, reappointment, and temporary privileging by reviewing all required data for each applicant within the defined timelines.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree is required.
In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years of medical staffing experience in a hospital or a health care setting.
(If no degree, a total of ten (10) years of experience required.)

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist ('CPCS') or Certified Medical Staff Coordinator ('CMSC') certification strongly preferred.
Cactus experience preferred.
