Senior Plumber
Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating and construction of plumbing distribution and fixtures steam distribution and heating. Performs all required inspections, testing preventative maintenance and training of personnel. Strong knowledge of NFPA 25, 70, 72, 99 and 110. Good working knowledge of State and Local codes and their application in healthcare. Ability to formulate budget requests.
Required Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees all plumbing activity in the hospital facility and properties
2. Uses blueprints, sketches and drawings to renovate, construct and install facilities and/or equipment
3. Inspects major piping systems and sub-systems regularly and performs preventative maintenance and repairs as required in compliance with established standards and codes as related to renovation and construction work
4. Operates, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs major plumbing breakdowns such equipment as boilers, pipes, pipe fittings and fixtures and air compressors, pumps, reducing stations, traps, valves and heaters, gas and oxygen lines in areas that are renovated and construction work
5. Assists in general maintenance of buildings and grounds as directed.
6. May monitor the Energy Management Systems program.
7. Assists in the maintaining for the parts and supply inventory for plant equipment and reports supply requirements.
8. Provide technical guidance and direction to maintenance staff.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
10. Perform water treatment program to central energy plant.
11. Repair kitchen equipment.
12. Repair and service ice machines.
13. Perform preventative maintenance on medical air, medical suction and medical gas systems.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of experience as a plumber.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Journeyman or Georgia State Masters Plumbing License (Non-Restricted or Restricted)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Backflow Certification through one of the following agencies or organizations is required: American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE), American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA), Georgia Association of Water Professionals, or Training, Research, Education, Environmental Occupation (TREEO from University of Florida).
Valid Georgia drivers license & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 criteria preferred.
