Responsibilities: The adjunct faculty for the Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program is a position that reports to the Program Director-CLS. This role requires good organization, written oral and communication skills. Instructs and supports the Clinical Laboratory Sciences education program based on the needs of the program. Instruction can include curriculum specific content associated with clinical chemistry, hematology/hemostasis, Immunology Immunohematology/transfusion medicine, Microbiology, Urine and body fluid analysis, and Laboratory Operations. Responsible for classroom management of assigned courses and application of varied instructional and teaching methodologies. Supports CLS program functions which may include periodic meetings related to programmatic accreditation requirements, advisory boards and organizational structure. Accountability is monitored through program goal achievement, post-graduate evaluation and direct observation. Functions with limited supervision, utilizes independent and collaborative judgement in decision making and problem solving.Accountability is monitored through program goal achievement, post-graduate evaluation and direct observation. Expected to maintain a faculty appointment with the partnering educational institution and maintain ongoing professional development and certification in respective or related fields.Hours for instruction for this role will vary in accordance with student enrollment and course offerings. Qualifications: Education- Associates Degree in clinical or medical laboratory technology/sciences or related field Required
- Degree in related field Preferred
- 1 year of teaching experience or working in the specialty area of instruction Required
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in the specialty area of instruction Required
- Meet the College of American Pathologist (CAP) and state guidelines to work in a clinical laboratory. Meet certification requirements in respective or related field(s) Required
