Previous EEG Tech experience preferred

JOB PURPOSE:

Performs routine EEGs, adult, pediatric, and neonate patients as ordered by the physician.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Entry Level

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

BLS Certification

Completion of a one-year school of Electroencephalography preferred. One (1) year experience as in EEG Technologist preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs various EEGs, producing acceptable recording in order to evaluate the patient's condition.

2. Performs procedure according to departmental standard of care.; calibrates equipment, makes appropriate markings and head measurement

3. Understands the medical implications for electroencephalography.

4. Recognizes abnormal test results, abnormal conditions that can be simulated by test performances, and causes.

5. Performs administrative duties related to EEG procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.

Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.
