Hyperbaric Med Safety Tech
Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
Safe and independent operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support equipment. Provides
direct patient care and performs timely documentation concerning the patient care and progress. Acting
safety officer for hyperbaric services through the system. On boarding and pre-cepting of new
technicians and physicians through the system. Oversees, manages and monitors patient safety
initiatives, including equipment protocols, for hyperbaric services. Serves as the expert in all clinical and
operational aspects of hyperbaric procedures.
Required Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Hyperbaric technicians are certified and/or licensed in an approved relevant field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 years of hyperbaric experience. Successful completion of clinical program with licensure or certification
with State of GA or other recognized authority with hyperbaric experience. Successful completion (40
hours) of Primary Training in Hyperbaric Medicine Course. Successful completion of a UHMS or
NBDHMT approved safety course.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification as a CHT, Certified Hyperbaric Technologist or CHRN, Certified Hyperbaric Registered
Nurse preferred. BLS certification through AHA preferred.
