Wound Care Resident

JOB PURPOSE:
Provides wound care services for a designated group of patients. Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, ostomy management and education as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues. Works in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan and perform patient assessment and treatments. Provides patient care to all age groups to include pediatric, adult and geriatric. Achieves the Goals and Objectives set by the Residency or Fellowship Program. Employment will be for a period of 12 -14 months (residency) or 24-28 months (fellowship) unless resident/ fellow fails to meet Goals and Objectives at which time employment may be terminated.

Required Hours: 32 hour/week role, mainly weekdays 8am-4:30pm schedule, occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a BS, MS, or DPT. Must maintain current CEUs as required by the State.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current Georgia Physical Therapist License. Current BLS certification by AHA.
