Description

JOB PURPOSE:   

Operates radiologic imaging equipment used to make clinical diagnostic radiographs and performs diagnostic and interventional support according to established standards and to include but not limited to: angiography and venography. Provides table-side support for Endovascular procedures performed in the hybrid operating room. Completes all post processing functions. Provides patient care to age groups to include pediatric, adult and geriatrics.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
  2. Demonstrates expertise in radiological technical skills, image-acquisition, transferring and archiving of images, and troubleshooting skills.
  3. Maintains competencies for all related components and equipment.
  4. Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  5. Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
  6. Adheres to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program, including dosimetry badge and lead apron maintenance.
  7. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
  8. Duties for this position include but are not limited to circulating and scrubbing roles during Endovascular procedures and assisting with patient care within scope of practice.
  9. Demonstrates technical skills, trouble-shooting skills and expert knowledge of supplies and equipment used during Endovascular procedures and Vascular Surgery.
  10. Assists in training radiology staff and students.
  11. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

One (1) year of clinical experience

 

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Advance certification by ARRT in Vascular- Interventional Radiography (VI), preferred (to be obtained within 18mo of hire)

BLS Certified
