Cath Lab Tech - Days
Overview:
Must smile and make eye contact. The Interventional Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) performs direct patient care within the scope of the CVT. Performs the primary function of managing the physical environment of the patient area. Monitors and directs utilization of resources related to care of the patient. Effectively communicates pertinent information to appropriate individuals. Responsible for meeting the established policies/standards of practice for this facility. Daily use of analytical and decision-making skills. Promotes and maintains patient safety standards. Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of CMC.
Requirements
Must have medical background to include: Paramedic, Radiology Tech or Cardiovascular Tech experience.
Hours: 7:00am - 5:30pm, 4 10-hour shifts
Responsibilities: Assists the physician in the performance of invasive cardiac procedures. Has thorough knowledge of all Cath Lab Equipment and maintenance of it and administers direct/indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Able to provide direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures. Qualifications: Education
- Graduate of an accredited a RCIS program Required or
- Graduate of an accredited program in nursing, respiratory, paramedic, imaging, or exercise physiology. Required
- Graduate of an accredited healthcare program in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology, Paramedic or equivalent Required
- 1 year Healthcare Imaging, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, Respiratory, or RN experience Required or
- No experience required if a graduate of an RCIS program Required
- 2 years of experience in an acute care setting (i.e. Critical Care, Cath Lab, Radiology Special Procedures) or equivalent Preferred
- Based on healthcare experience (see above), applicable license. Upon Hire Required and
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist If a graduate of RCIS program RCIS within 2 Years Required or
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Upon Hire Required or
- RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
- ACLS Upon Hire Required
