Outpatient Mental Health Therapist
Overview:
Piedmont Eastside
The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist provides individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation to clients receiving outpatient services. This role supports individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders, helping them develop coping strategies and achieve treatment goals.
Schedule
Full-time with some evening availability (variable shift)
Responsibilities:- Facilitate individual therapy sessionsand create personalized treatment plans.
- Conduct intake assessments, including psychosocial evaluations and risk assessments.
- Provide group therapy sessionsfocused on mental health, coping skills, and relapse prevention.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers to ensure integrated care.
- Document all sessions and maintain compliance with HIPAA and program standards.
- Offer crisis interventionand support as needed.
- Educate clients on emotional regulation, life skills, and recovery strategies.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training.
- Education:Masters degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Licensure:LPC, LCSW, LMFT (associate licensure accepted if working toward full licensure).
- Experience:Prior experience in outpatient mental health or substance use treatment preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and group facilitation skills.
