Registered Respiratory Therapist - Outpatient Pulmonary Rehab, Part Time

Responsibilities:

Respiratory Therapist / RRT / Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to continue the growth of our Pulmonary Rehab Care team at Piedmont Mountainside. As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations.

In addition to hands-on patient care, Respiratory Therapists are required to accurately and completely document respiratory care by following the charting procedure. You will select, assemble and check respiratory care equipment for proper operation and cleanliness. You will work with management to formulate plans for professional development.

• Participates in the program's educational efforts, classes, and/or individual sessions
• Conducts initial assessment and orientation of new participants
• Assists in the development of individualized treatment plans with other staff members
• Effectively applies knowledge of exercise science to a population with pulmonary disease and other potential co-morbidities
• Develops and adjusts individual exercise prescription in accordance with GXT, daily patient response in rehab, and physician recommendations on a regular basis (with assistance of Exercise Physiologist)
• Supervises exercise session, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise
• Responsible for oximetry, heart rate, and blood pressure measurement
• Assesses participants pre, during, and post exercise, making appropriate referrals, and/or recommendations to the participant, other staff, and Medical Director

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist and Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 60 Days Required
