Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon

Position Summary

Piedmont Heart is recruiting a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon to serve as the clinical leader of the Vascular Surgery program at Piedmont Newton. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and expanding vascular services, increasing program volume, and enhancing our regional presence as a destination for advanced cardiovascular care.

This physician will support a high-volume patient care environment focused on delivering exceptional clinical outcomes through comprehensive cardiovascular and vascular treatment options. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in patient care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and program growth through innovation and quality-driven care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Vascular Surgery program at Piedmont Newton.
  • Grow vascular and endovascular service lines and strengthen regional market presence between Rockdale and Newton
  • Provide comprehensive vascular surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with cardiovascular specialists, interventionalists, and referring physicians to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support outcome-driven patient care strategies.
  • Work closely within the Heart Institute to build on the infrastructure of a system-wide vascular network
  • Contribute to program development, physician education, and community outreach initiatives

Clinical Expertise

The ideal candidate should be proficient in a broad spectrum of vascular procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Open and minimally invasive endovascular procedures
  • Endovascular aortic interventions
  • Surgical procedures, including endarterectomy and bypass grafting
  • Dialysis access Management of vascular disease and emergent vascular conditions

Piedmont Newton will participate as part of a Level 1 Vascular Emergency Program providing system-wide care for seamless, expert care for patients presenting with:

  • Acute aortic syndromes
  • Acute limb ischemia
  • Pulmonary embolism

When necessary, patients may be transferred to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital for definitive evaluation, advanced intervention, and ongoing management within one of the region's leading cardiovascular programs.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • 5 years + experience
  • Board Certification in Vascular Surgery
  • Eligibility for or current unrestricted Georgia medical license
  • Demonstrated expertise in open and endovascular vascular procedures
  • Commitment to quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and program growth
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills
  • Desire to be on the forefront of a developing program within a mature heart and vascular program.
